Florida Doctor Found Guilty Of Unlawfully Dispensing And Distributing Opioids

MIAMI – A former South Florida doctor has been found guilty of charges of illegally distributing opioids at his pain management clinic. A federal jury sitting in Miami, Florida found Daniel Alberto Carpman, 72, of Miami, guilty of the unlawful dispensing and distribution of oxycodone at his pain management clinic, Daniel Carpman MD Medical Center. Carpman was convicted of one count of conspiracy to distribute opioids and four counts of illegally distributing opioids. He faces a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison on each count. United States District Court Judge Melissa Damian scheduled defendant’s sentencing for June 22, 2025.  Carpman was remanded to custody following the jury verdict.
